I am deciding on a router/table/lift combo. I am going with the Porter Cable 7518 for the router and want to know some opinions on the Jessem Mast-R-Lift .vs. the Woodpecker PRL. The PRL looks a little beefier with the chain drive vs the rubber belt. I will probably build a table. Any reccomendations on the fence?

Benchdog iron lift under table at pix link. Works good.
Nice fence is that a comercial job or did you make?
My design, my execution.
See FWW no. 144 for plans, thank you for asking.
Routers
FWW did a review in a recent issue on router lifts as have some of the other wood mags. Check the March American Woodworker for a real nice do it yourself model.
I went with the Jessem Mast R Lift. Love it. Built my own table using NYW plans. Since I used a Jessem fence also, I had to cut 2" out of the middle in the top half, and 2 inches off the width of the two smaller drawers on the lower portion, left side. If you need more info, let me know.
The NYW plans come with plans for a fence, but I really liked the Jessem fence. Also, gave me fewer pieces to screwup.

I have the Woodpecker with 16tpi. It is great. No slop. The Mastrlift slips with is rubber belt drive.
Round and round we go. My mast-r-lift has a cog belt and doesn't slip!!!!!!!
a lift comparison in Wood mag. issue #142 June/July 2002 rated it #1. Try them out you may find things you like and don't like on any model.
