router table for General Contractors saw
Was wondering if anyone bought the router insert table for the General Contractor’s saw (50-185) and if you could post or send me a pic of your assembly – how did you fashion a fence for the router, how’s it working, etc. Thanks, Tom

Here is is my saw with the router insert. I didn't have the space in my old shop but the new shop allows me to have a router table. I had a fence similar to the one on Norms's router table that fit over my saw fence. It worked good but I found it got in the way from time to time.

Tom, I have the Veritas solid steel table top mounted on my Jet contractor's saw, hinged so it can drop down out of the way if I need to. That same arrangement would work on virtually any saw, IMO. The advantage of mounting it that way is that I can drop the whole thing down, with the fence set and the bit up, and not lose any of the set-up.
The Veritas table has a univeresal mounting system, so you can change routers to your heart's content over the years. The table-top can also be lifted off the frame and used on a portable base outside or taken to a construction site, etc.
I made my own fence to use until I can buy the Veritas fence. Here's a link to the tabletop:
