Hi,
Does anyone have comments on the Router Raizer? I was planning to retrofit my PC 7529 router with it, and wanted to know if anyone had pro or con comments about the product and results.
Of course, the PC 8529 solves the issue of above-table height adjustment, but the Router Raizer seemed a cheaper solution than buying a new router!
Cheers,
Seth

I believe that PC will retrofit the 7529 for $49 at its service centers. Check out their website, it is listed in a press release.
You're right! The information is indeed in the press release. I did a '8529' search on the PC website, and the first link is the press release. Thank you for the answer. Should anyone else stumble on this thread, the link is http://www.portercable.com/index.asp?e=276&p=3204

I have installed a Router Raizer on a Freud plunge router and it seems to work quite well.
Thanks, Bill. Glad to hear that the Router Raizer is a good product. I liked that the thread pitch was quite fine, and the mechanism looks to offer precise movements.
I've decided to go with the Porter Cable upgrade, where for $50, PC will install the kit of parts that allows the 7529 to be adjusted above the table. PC referenced part # 907320 (the hardware kit), and part # 75301 (bent wrenches and the adjusting tool). Perhaps the thread pitch on the PC upgrade is not as fine as the Router Raizer, but the price is right.
The service center in San Leandro, CA did not have a lot of information about the upgrade, but in fairness, they gave great customer service over the phone, and they did provide me with the part number information and pricing. In essence, they said to bring in the Porter Cable press release that announced the price and service, and they would meet the commitment. I like a company that responds positively to its customers!

Seth
I think the new Porter Cable lifter is a good deal. The Raizer was pretty complicated to install and I had to modify the base of the Freud Router I installed.
Enjoy.Bill
I installed a Router Raizer on a PC 7539 several years ago as well as an Eliminator RC Quick Change Chuck which allows you to change bits above the table. I have been very happy with both.
Thanks for the suggestion about the RC chuck! If I get fed up enough with the two-wrench dance, I'll give it a go.
Cheers,
Seth
