Router lift for Freud FTE 2000?
Any suggestions for a router lift for the 3 1/4 hp Freud? I like the router but it’s a pain to try to adjust height on it while it’s mounted under the table. The plunge rods are always hanging up, making it very difficult to adjust. Most of the router lifts out there seem to be made to fit PC, Bosch, Dewalt and Milwaukee. Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated.

I'm curious re the trouble you're having. I've been using the same router in my table for over three years now... never had a prob with adjustment. Have you tried removing the plunge springs...????

No I haven't but would appreciate any advice on how to do it. I have seen that mentioned on other threads, but haven't run across any info from freud about how to do it. Thanks in advance.
I wouldn't know where to begin... never felt the need to remove em... but apparently its a common mod for other users. Never heard anyone take em out of a Freud though.Mike Wallace

lv,
It sounds like the plunge on your router is not functioning correctly. How long have you had it?
If you decide you want a lift the Router Raizer is the only one I have first hand experience with and it works very well.

I just walked out to the shop and took it out of the table. The plunge mechanism works fine when the router is in the upright, handheld position. But invert it under the table and attempt to adjust it upward to set height and the rods seem to bind as I try to hit the height I'm after. I have read on other sites that this is not an uncommon occurrance with this router. That said, I'd really like to find a fix for this. The router's got awesome power, and I bought it with the Freud router table setup at a closeout at Lowe's last summer for $200, out the door. So for that price, I'm willing to put up with a couple of headaches. But I would like to get this thing squared away. Thanks.

Wow, you got a sweet deal! Any routers that bind like you describe are not normal and should be remedied. Send your router to my attention at the address below and I'll be happy to warranty it for you.Charles McCracken

Thanks in advance for the help. It'll be in the mail tomorrow.
I use the Plunge Lift from Woodpeckers with my FT2000e router - works great:
