There's a guy named Bob Ross who's been developing a Bolt On Ripping Knife (BORK) that rises and falls with the blade much like a riving knife. He might have one for post 1955 Uni's but you'll need to check with him. I've had one on my Shop Fox since August and it works well.

Yes. I have a Shark Guard. Check out post # 43518.19 for my "ideas" and pictures. If you buy one, be aware that shipment is VERY slow (he has a lot of orders) but worth the wait.

The Shark Guard is a winner. Check out his website for plans on how to build one yourself:

The "Shark Guard" IMO.. is the best after-market splitter on the market. Not only does Lee custom machine the splitter to larger than the factory original (but narrower than the keft of course).. he added quick release. And then you have superior over-head dust collection with the shield he uses.
As mentioned Lee is a "one man band" so to speak as he has a regular job and the SG is much in demand so... about a two month wait but unless you can build your own well worth it. I buy my splitter from Lee and do my on custom crown guards but.. mine is very similar to Lee's design but with a crown guard.
Good Luck...
Sarge..
See post 6 as I hopefully got the picture right there...
