i have a old delta 8″ cabinet saw that i restored to awesome working order but it has no splitter. i have used it and other table saws for years without ever having a riving knife but the 13 stitches i have in my palm from a piece of wood kicking back have helped me decide that one is necessary. does anyone have suggestions on where to get parts for a 1951 table saw? i am trying owwm.org. thanks.

If you can not find a true riving knife for your saw you might want to take a look at the Shark Guard. With three different heights of splitters it is possible to keep the blade very close to the splitter - and you have the advantage of top-side dust collection.
If you are interested in the SharkGuard, let me know and I'll dig up some close-up photos to explain what I mean.
Sorry about your hand. Ouch!
Not a direct response to your question, but as an alternative I remember mention of inserting a metal piece upright in a wooden insert as a splitter of fixed low height.
Sorry to hear about the stiches. Retro fit is never a good idea. Best to buy the correct set-up from mfg. In the 1980's I bought an INCA 12" tilting arbor table saw with all safety stuff. Best decision I made. USA is only just now following the lead. Decisions on safety are made based on profits, not the consumers safety. Remember retrofit is a mistake.

I purchased one of these and it works well on my saw. I don't know if will fit your saw or not.
