Table Saws come with a right tilting blade. Why would someone consider the left-tilt option?

Many prefer the blade to lean away from the rip fence when doing a mitered rip. So if you do a lot of this kind of ripping, a left tilt makes since.

Thankyou. I will give it a try
Left tilt is great for people who do a lot of beveling. If you only do square rips, it's not worth it. But, left tilt is safer, because there is a smaller chance of kickback when you are ripping a bevel. The piece is less likely to get caught underneath the blade and the fence on a left tilt. Actually, there is no way it can, because the piece is above the saw blade. ___________|||

Your first comment that tablesaws come with right tilt blades is true, however, more & more are coming with left tilt as a option. Me personally, I like the left tilt. Much easier to rip bevals. If you get a chance, try a left tilt.
This coming from a guy that votes to the right!! LOL
hope this helps

Thankyou. Yes it does
Have used both,,,Now have PM66 to the left...(my only left leaning, LOL) Much better..
Thankyou. I will try it
There have been a lot of discussions about this issue. Check out the archives. Ihave both in my shop.
One thing I have learned from these Taunton Foums is that there is a right way and a wrong way to do things, and only a total bonehead would use a right tilt saw.

thanks
I have a powermatic 66 left tilt and that is all i will ever have--- I would not have a right tilt in the shop--- I see no advantage in those, and a hazard when trying to rip a small bevel...
Thanks
