Gary, I’m getting ready to upgrade to a 3 HP cabinet table saw and was wondering whether you would go with a right or left tilt saw. What are the merits of each? Thanks.

Hi,
Well first I'd go with a SawStop for the safety features. It's a left tilt saw which are the only ones that make sense to me. Right tilt saws will trap any board being ripped at an angle between the blade and the table and fence with the potential for some nasty kick-back if you're not careful. I can't think of a good reason to have a right tilt saw. Gary
