Hi all…I really enjoy reading your questions and the responses to them.
Now let me ask one. Is anyone out there using the resp-o-rator breathing device?
I have had one for several months and think its great, however it does drip a bit from
condensed moisture in the breath. What are your opinions?

I've used one for about a year now. It works very well for turning, which is what I do most of the time. It's great for sanding on the lathe and can be used under a faceshield without fogging up the shield. And for anyone with as much facial hair as I have, it's more effective than a mask-type respirator. I agree about the drooling, though - not good if you have to lean over a large workpiece.
I did recently buy the Triton Airshield, mostly for a higher level of protection when working with spalted wood but also because I don't like having to breathe through my mouth. I still use the Resp-o-rator sometimes though - the Airshield only works when the batteries are charged and sometimes its easier to just put on the Resp-o-rator.

Another advantage of the Resp-o-rator over the Airshield: I can use regular ear muffs with it. For the Airshield, I'm going to have to buy a pair that have the band go behind instead of on top of my head.
