Has anyone ever used danish oil or something similar to finish red wood? Its for a picnic table. I am not apposed to re finishing every year and it will be out of the harsh weather for the most part.
Any other suggestions please feel free.

If it is outside I would try Cabot's Australian timber oil or Penofin. I have not used Penofin in several years but the Cabot's products looked good on some teak benches my wife has in the back yard.

My buddy out in Washington State swears by Sikkens Cetol DEK and Sikkens Cetol SRD on all his exterior redwood.
Spendy, but good stuff.
