All of my work to date has been finished with stain, poly, shellac etc. I am building an item for a customer who wants the piece painted. I have an HVLP sprayer and would prefer to spray a finish.
What type and suppliers of paint will you recommend?
Thanks,
Pete

Pete, I was in the same boat just yesterday. Until then had only sprayed clear finishes. My Fuji HVLP came with a #3 needle and I ordered a #4 to spray latex and enamels. I used Porter Pro Master 2000 satin oil base, thinned until it ran thru the viscosity cup in about 25 seconds and it sprayed very well. Today I'll spray the other side and plan on adding a few drops of Japan dryer. I'm fairly new to spraying, still experimenting, but I'm finding the process to be pretty forgiving.
*Pete, I just realized that your question is in the Business folder, you'll probably get more responses it you post it under "Finishing".
