I am looking for a company that re-builds 9.6v and 14.4v Makita batteries. Does anyone have any experience with rebuilt batteries? Thanks. Added photos 1-15-2010

I had batteries rebuilt from Primecell.com for my Makita drill. They seem as good or better than new batteries from the store. They are on E-bay also and have good marks.
I've used Primecell also, for
I've used Primecell also, for rebuilding Senco (12v) and Milwaukee (18v) batteries. Very happy with the results (and the price!).
FYI, Primecell in some cases can offer Lithium-Ion batteries as a replacement for older Ni-Cad or Ni-Mh in a battery pack. (This option may not be available depending on your charger design as well as the battery pack design, but the folks at Primecell seem pretty tuned in to what tool models/chargers will support this upgrade).
Thank you. I sent 3 batteries out today to primecell. I will update when I get them back.
Got the batteries back from primecell. Took 2 weeks.
I sent them two 9.6 volt, and one 12 volt NiCd batteries. The 9.6 volt batteries were from Dec 2000. They charged up right away - seem as powerful as new. They claim better than new, time will tell.
A nice touch is that their sticker has the date the battery was rebuilt on them, I always date batteries and supplies with a shelf life (paint, glue, caulk etc.)
Costs were $38 each for the 9.6 volt NiCd batteries, $47 for the 12 volt NiCd battery. Shipping was $16 there and $12 back. Spend around $150 total.
Thanks for the recommendation, overall satisfied with the service, and I got my right angle drill back!

Try Battery Pack Rebuilder
I used Battery Pack Rebuilder to rebuild my batteries and was real happy with the outcome. I highly recomend them! They rebuilt them with batteries that lasted longer between charges. I didn't have to pay for the return shipping so it ended up a lot less than I would have paid for new battery packs. You can find them at http://batterypackrebuilder.com
They also have a 10% discount if you send in 5 or more batteries at the same time. If I remember right, they also do a lot more than cordless drill battery rebuilds. I think they do broadcast news and biomedical battery rebuilds too.
About the Makita batteries. They were able to open mine up without damaging the cases. They told me that the have a tool that pops them open.
I got the image from Google images when I did a search for "battery rebuilder"
