In a past FWW magazine in the Readers Gallery there was a tall Mahogany Secretary made by a person in Tennessee.
Can someone help me find which issue that was in? I met him at a woodworking show last summer and of course my wife threw away his business card.
thanks, Chris

Chris,
In the Dec, 2008 issue is a mahogany Salem secretary made by J. Albert Hudson from Knoxvolle, TN. I don't have any contact info. but In this day of information technology I hope that you will be able to make a contact.
Good luck.

Al is a good friend of mine and a big part of the reason I won best of show at last years master-woodworkers show here in Knoxville. I like to say that I beat out the likes of brian boggs and alf sharp! In any case, if you have a specific question I'd gladly pass it on with your name and phone #. Unfortunately he doesn't have a computer! As a matter of fact, I handed him a CD last week with some digitized pictures on them and he said, "What the hell do I do with this"!

thanks for your posting. I actually was able to contact Al and even go over to his house for a visit.
He is one of the nicest people I have every met. His dedication to woodworking is phenomenal. He loves and works at woodworking every day.
I also was able to find a person to help me out with the finish.
thanks for your help.

I guess you live here in Knoxville then? Stop in Woodcraft and say hi sometime. Just ask for Chris and they can point you in the right direction. Usually in on mondays.I'm guessing while you were at Al's you got to tour his little 'museum'? That desk is something else in person isn't it!? How about that shop of his? You move the wrong direction in there and your bound to knock something over! Says a lot about what one really needs as far as shop size...Did he refer you to David Reeves for finish?Chris
