Ok…tell me again…I tried today to re-coil my 3/4 ” blade and bent it a little. I did the wrist action and put my tongue against my right cheek and even squinted my left eye a little bit…what did I do wrong?

Obviously, you were supposed to squint your right eye! OK, 'nuf of that. The definitive thing you did wrong, I suspect, is force the blade. If you're doing the wrist thing correctly, the blade should pretty much sink into the coil. If you're having to force it at all, something's not right in the action.
Keep this in mind after your visit to the web instructions above.

Oh, yuck, I just ran that animation. No wonder you had trouble. Let me find the FWW diagram and I'll scan it and post it. It's much easier, methinks.

OK, here ya go, picture below reprinted from Fine Woodworking #128. The notes say a consensus was arrived at, that this method was the safest and easiest of the ones they tried. "Hold the blade to the floor with your toes, sawteeth facing out, and twist your wrist 360*, pushing down slightly as you turn. The blade will coil down on itself into three loops. [Vincent Laurence, Assoc. Editor, FWW] PS: I would recommend wearing gloves.

And if anyone still doesn't get it, follow this link for a video presentation of the same method.

(When I watched John White do this, and saw how simple it was, and remembered how I'd struggled to do the same, and how I'd had no success..... let's just say that with a bit of effort one can kick oneself in the buttocks with some force.)
