After a friend got a RC pond yacht I now want one to race him, etc. And Santa comes pretty soon.
Does anyone have any experience with Tippecanoe kits, particularly the T37 http://www.tboats.com/t37sail.html.
Are there other wood kits out there worth checking out?
BTW I have some RC experience with planes. Unfortunatley, that hobby got to expensive.
Thanks Everyone.

I posted your question on another forum. You won't be able to reply without registering, but you should still be able to read the replies. Here's a link. If it doesn't work, post up and I'll find another way to get you the feedback.

I've got a tippicanoe (sp?) free sailing boat, oh 18" long, but no experience with their RC stuff. I have an antique 'pond yacht' and I'll contact the man who did much of the work on Barbara for his thoughts (he's very involved in building RC sailboats).

A classic, Ed.I am back into finishing a Marblehead variant which I started three years ago. Next step is running up some sails.I will probably be into free sailing, so it is encouraging to see your Barbara looking so good.Lapun.
"MR", now I know I'm in trouble...
As for Barbara, everything she's got she owes to Abe. Very thorough research and consumate skill. Barbara's rags came from Black Sails in So Calif. The sails are exquisite.
I cannot answer.. I cry even now.. Maybe 1970... I made a steam driven model of an old German Sub.. I took a year to build it... All hand made by me.. The Radio parts maybe Japan at the time?
It worked Perfect... Untill it sunk in BIG Lake on the east side of Chicago!
I know how you feel, in 72 I built a 3' model of the Missouri complete with rotating turrets and twin motors. She's at the bottom of a lake on NAS Memphis.

Hello TWG,
Posting here at request of Mr. Harrow.
No, not aware of any wooden pond boat kits other than those at the Tippacanoe site.
Check the AMYA website:

Or the USVMYG site:

Often a member may advertise a boat for sail.
Because we race and attend sanctioned regattas, all of our designs are expected to meet class rules. Although it isn't wood, most of our members at the local club sail the CR914 as well as vintage wooden models.
