I was thumbing through FWW issue # 102, page 43 and I came across an ad for Delta. The ad pictured George Reid with a scale model Queen Anne highboy. Does anyone know anything about this piece? I am most interested in the over all dimensions. I’m guessing it’s about two feet tall. Has anyone built a piece this size?
I’m thinking of making one for my wife to use as a jewelry cabinet (not that I can afford to put much in it).
Thanks,
Bill

bill,
I would venture a guess that whoever built it prolly scaled an existing plan. There's a 3 page article starting in #117 about making a really Fine one by Randall O'Donnell Building a Highboy.
There's also several plans available via the WEB; sounds like a great project. This isn't on topic but I visited a friend of mine over the weekend; he makes scaled replicas of heavy equipment & trucks. You'd be amazed at what few tools he uses to make them.

Thanks Bob,
I think I will just pick a height of 18 - 24 inches and start scaling from there. I can model it in CAD software to work out the details before I start cutting.
Thanks for the picture, looks like a fun toy.
