I went to an antique tool show the other day and got into a discussion with a saw collector about My 10″ Brass backed back saw. Pratt&Co. Buffalo, NY. The Saw wasn’t in any of his books. Any Ideas out there about value and history ?

There's lots to find on Pratt & Company if you do a google search. The one I believe you should focus attention on is the same company which owned Buffalo Iron And Nail Works. They also had NY covered in hardware stores.
Pratt also had a number of partnerships which expanded the types of tools and or interests.
Whether they actually made the back saw or not I didn't find in the couple minutes I looked. Disston often made personalized saws for large enough clients--and Pratt was large enough.
One of the items I found is on eBay, and is a catalog of sorts concerning the ironworks:

Another linky for one of his partnerships:

Possibly. If it has split nuts, possibly before 1890.
Take care, Mike
Yes to the split nuts, Very high domed round heads with slot on one side. Handle is open with two horns on the bottom. Top has two horns also with a little outward pointed V, there is also a rounded hanging notch about 5/16 dia. Also on the brass back is stamped Warranted Cast Steel.

The domed nuts...split nuts are flat. Filed flush to the sides of the saws and take a screw driver with a notch to bridge the bolt which comes up through the nut.
