Slayer,
I am assuming you read the review on that machine in the Feburary 2004 issue of Workbench Magazine.
The only thing that I found to be queer concerning it was the table adjustment. Does that seem logical to adjust the table height up and down as opposed to the blade height? Seems you'd have to adjust your in and out feeds each time too.
I have never used it, but aside from the table and the $500 extra cost, seems like a great idea. Constant cut seems like it would give cleaner results than ordinary concentric cutters.
good luck.

A moving table is standard design on larger planers, only benchtop machines move the powerhead. The size of the motor and drive train on larger machines makes it impractical to make them the moving element.

Looks yummy to me. Haven't run out and bought one though, LOL.

As JohnW stated, the table on my Delta DC-380 (15 inch 3hp cast iron) surface planer, moves up and down when adjusting the depth of cut, the cutterhead stays stationary.
There actually has been quite a few negative posts abot that machine on Amazon.com, which bummed me out, because that machine looks like a contender.
