I just finished assembling my new powermatic contractor’s tablesaw and the fence will not fit on the “tube”. I’ve got the adjusting screws backed out all the way – but no luck. Any suggestions? steven

Hhhmmm.....the first thing that came to mind was whether or not the handle is in the up position. Assuming it is, do you suppose it's possible that they shipped you the rail for the commercial fence and the body for a home version? I'm not even sure PM offers both versions, but I know that Biesemeyer does, and that the tubes are different sizes. Take a quick measurement and call PM's CS. Maybe another PM owner will post their tube dimensions....
Steve,
The PM fences have an adjustment on each forward side to adjust for clamping pressure and squareness. It's possible that these are set too tight. They are adjusted with a small allen wrench that should have been furnished with the fence.
Hope you get it sorted out soon.
Richard
Thanks for the replies, Richard and Thomas. I went out to my garage this morning, put Butcher's Wax on appropriate parts and the fence snugged right in. Slides just like it's supposed to - locks down tight. I guess I was too tired last night and didn't think about the wax. Steven
