Will shellac act as a barrier for powderpost beetles? Some of the wood i’m using has powderpost beetle “tracks” and i thought that shellac could be used as a barrier to prevent their continuing destruction. Your thoughts and ideas would be appreciated.

shellac, varnish, etc will only keep adult beetles from laying eggs in the open pores in the wood. These film finishes will not kill or keep larvae from tunneling out from stored lumber or from completed projects.
No.
Only kilning to the "KD-HT" schedule will kill the eggs. That's the "56/30" standard recognized internationally for wood exports or 56 degrees C for 30 minutes.
