i purchased a pancake compressor 3.5 gallon from porter cable 1 1/2 yrs ago. everything was fine. on my last two jobs doing base trim and crown molding i started to notice that after the comp. makes pressure it shuts off when its time to make pressure again it runs the cycle and when it completes the cycle it sounds like a air leak. i’ve checked all the fittings no leaks it sound like its coming from under the cover that protects the motor anyone elsehave this problem

It's not clear to me what you mean by an "air leak"... Both my big Ingersoll Rand and my portable PC compressors fill up the tank and then, after the motor ceases running, the motor lets the air pressure out in a short burst of air.
That supposedly releives the air pressure in the cylinder, etc, etc. If that's what you're talking about, it's supposed to be that way... Maybe you're just now noticing it?
If "air leak" means something else, I couldn't say.....
Good luck!
