Just bought a Porter Cable 10″ 50T “finisher” saw blade from Home Depot for about $30. These are the ones with 2 different kinds of teeth. I bought it hoping to use as a “combination” blade.
Anybody have any experience with these blades? I’m planning to rip quite of bit of 3/4″ hard maple this weekend.

You should get decent, but not steller performance from it for a $30 blade.
Have you used this blade yourself?TFToolfanatic (a.k.a. The man formerly known as "Toolfreak")
That particular PC blade has one wild tooth configuration ! One that not many of us have used. Fill us in on your experiances with it. Personally I'll stick with dedicated blades (Freud). Forrest in the future when budget permits, "Right".Work Safe, Count to 10 when your done for the day !!

Yeah, I got two blades from that series....a 7-1/4" ripper and the 10" 50T. I've been kind of spoiled by top shelf blades, and didn't feel that the Razor was up to snuff with some of the better Freud's, Forrest, DW's or Ridge Carbide, but thought it was worth the price of $30. You may find that it dulls a bit faster than some of the high end blades, but should be worth at least one resharpening.
TF,
I bought that blade at Home Depot last year as a temporary replacement while I sent my Forrest blade back to the factory for sharpening. I figured for the price it probably won't be anything to brag about and if it was too bad, H.D. would be good for a refund. I was surprised that it turned out to be a very good blade. The variable teeth results in very low feed pressure needed; the edge surface (the ripped edge of the wood) is not equal to the Forrest, but is still what I would consider quite good, especially for a $30 blade. I only used it for ripping, can't comment on cross cutting. Also no comment on durability, I used it for a month then put my Forrest back on. For a spare or occasional use blade I think it was a good buy. Gary
