I just completed a jewellery box. I applied 5 thin coats of Minwax antique oil, which I have used before and like the look of, but now the customer wants a very high gloss plastic type look. I have some high gloss poly- can I apply this over top if the oil has dried for 2 days? Oh ya, it needs to be done for Christmas naturally.

Peter,
You should have no problem. I would level the Minwax with steel wool to an even satin surface or very gently abrade with 320 grit. And you better use a thin application of poly!
