- Are you a hobbyist or a business?
- How many dustbags do you go through in a month?

Hobby.
Yet to fill one (although I should go and check it today). I use it for sanding and Domino.
Better life through Zoodles and poutine...
Thank you, sir.
1. I'm not a professional
2. I re-use the bag lots of times before I replace it. I just take it outside and empty it in the trash can through the small hole in the top. I'm sure Festool would rather me get a new bag everytime, (or else they would have designed a more convienent way to empty it) but oh well!

Another bag re-user. Good to know.
hobbyist and depending on the project list I fill one about once a month, maybe every other month. I mentioned in another thread that I empty the bags too. I think that, especially if your doing stuff with the router, jig saw, TS 55, etc they are more of chips than fine dust and they don't affect the bag performance when you reuse it.
BTW, the next price increase will probably keep me from getting any other festools. After that, the prices are going to be too high for me to justify the purchase, even if its a better tool.
I am with DDay on the price increase. My TS 55 and vac are great tools. Both do a superb job but they are pricing themselves out of my market.
Well, the specs and comments on the tools look really outstanding. And wow, do they charge, and for every little thing. Of course the weak dollar, while driving exports for the U.S. in a big way, makes for imports being inordinately expensive.
I'm a glorified hobbyist. I have a substantial shop and I've got good stuff in it. That doesn't mean I'm paying double or triple for a tool unless it's truly revolutionary. I guess I'm trying to figure out if Festool is revolutionary to the tune of triple the bill. <g>
While high now, the next price increase (april 1st) is the one that is going to raise prices a lot. McFeely's has the whole list of increases and the percentages. I bought the TS 55 and the CT 22 right before last years increase, I think it was around $730, after April 1st it will be around $950 for the same thing. It was expensive last year but I thought I could justify it for the quality and speed, clean air, etc. but at $200 more I don't think I could.
Wow. Big increases. And the goverment tells us we don't have inflation. Ya right.
Hobbyist, it gets attached to all hand held powertools, I've had it since late Nov and have yet to empty it. By far the best vac I've had/used.
That's good to hear.

I'm a professional shop. I use their plunge saw (TS 55) with the CT-33 to whack up all cab. parts. I also have the Rotex 150 6" dual mode sander.
In 1 1/2 years, I'm on my 3rd bag for the collector.
Festool tools are worth every penny to anyone who appreciates high quality tools that do exactly what they are supposed to do.
Jeff
PS I laugh to myself when I hear concerns about the cost of a vacuum bag. Lungs are a helluva lot more expensive, believe me, I know first hand.

Jeez, that's not bad at all. If I made the move I think my primary interest is a Rotex and a collector.
Hobby gone wrong.
Have had it for 6 months.. never emptied the bag the cyclone sitting on top of it though gets emptied about once a month.
I had my old craftsman shop vac setup like this as well and I could use a hepa filter for a year before having to open the shop vac and clean it.
I hate cleaning filters; I used to go through 4 or 5 a year; but with the mini cyclone you should be able to go for a long time before it needs to be emptied.
Neat idea but I think you need to paint green if you want to sell it Festool.
I have the ct33e and I am a hobbyist
I think your question on bags is kind of depends on usage. A contractor working 8hrs a day will do a lot of bags. If you want to know about them for sure go over to the festool owners forum. I recently started a thread on the reusable bag and is the cost worth it. Had some good answers pro & con.

If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it.
And if it stops moving, subsidize it.

Absolutely, it depends totally on usage. I was just trying to get a gauge on it. I can't see myself buying bags on a monthly basis.
CT 55 with a TS 55. Semi Pro.. It's my part time job.
I've just been using it to cut plywood for kitchens. So 1 bag lasts about one kitchen with a little room to spare.. I just got the 1400 router. That's going to fill it up alot faster.
Looks like a great machine. Good luck with it. And thanks.
I'm a hobbiest - and count in "months per bag" as opposed to "bags per month". I don't like changing bags and therefore restrict the amount of big stuff that goes into the bag: shop brush and dustpan instead of floor sweep for example.
The mobility, extra-superb standard hose and variable suction are all winners.

Thank you.
Hey blewcrowe,
1. I am a professional.
2. I just got the c22 about 3 weeks ago, the bag still isn't full yet.
Cheers.
Russ
So, that sounds like GOOD news.
