A few years ago I bought a WORKSHOP (brand name) dust collection system from LEE VALLEY , and it worked great, and I religiously changed the six pocket filter every fall. I recently found out that LEE VALLEY no longer carries these things and the manufacturer stopped making them . I cannot be the only person who bought these so I am wondering what we can do about this. No one on the web seems to have this . Any thoughts?

The companies that make dust collectors rarely make the filters, they farm that work out to companies that specialize in filter manufacturing. Often the DC's maker would also choose a standard sized filter to save the expense of having filters custom made for their specific application.
So the chances are quite good that the filter you need is still being made and is available from someone. If Lee Valley won't help you out on this you will have to do some hunting to locate a new source for. There are filter supply companies that have hundreds of filter sizes in stock.
If all else fails, you can probably find a similar but slightly smaller filter and install it in your unit with a simple wood frame to make up for the smaller size of the filter.
Pocket filters can be expensive, you can save yourself some money by only replacing the filters when they are truly clogged. You can get an easily installed air pressure gauge for your machine that will tell you when the filters actually need changing.

Thanks I'll keep trying, as for the expense I don't mind ( beats breathing it in) . Please keep up the good work on your very fine magazine.
One thought ,about the time LV stopped selling those dust collecters Rigid (Emmerson electric )also stopped making their models ,sold by H-D.Coincidence? or were they the manufacturers of the L-V models.Rob Lee if you read this ; How about telling us your source as it is of no financial gain to your company now. Many of us feel let down by L-V over this.I have had no help from L-V stores that I have contacted.
I'm not sure which dust collection system is being talked about. I have the portable system, identical with Ridgid, but blue with the Emerson name on it, which LV used to sell. The system in the LV catalogue shown as discontinued seems to be the same, but with a different logo: http://www.leevalley.com/wood/page.aspx?c=1&p=30278&cat=1,42401&ap=1
If this is your system, although it has been discontinued, both filters are shown as available, ie with a shopping basket symbol next to them.

The OP mentioned 6 pockets on the micro filter .I assumed he meant an A760 which is square and now obselete. Not like normal Lee Valley behaviour to just drop the ball and go home though, more big box style!!! Are we looking forward to buying shoulder planes from an associate next ?
I think you're right about the model (the thread seems to have migrated elsewhere for some reason). No, it's not like LV. Presumably they think it's a standard size that can be had from someone like Grainger or Filters USA. For what it's worth, there were constant complaints here in Canada that HD never carried the equivalent Ridgid filters, so many people wound up improvising their own. Given the popularity of DC systems, air cleaners for small shops are getting harder to find, it seems.
