Problem- PM 66 calibration before cutting new sliding tables.
Trying to bring blade into parallel with miter slot.
Almost zero arbor runout. no problem there.
Forrest WW2 on same carbide tip front and back,- can’t adjust any finer than .0035.
Same for Freud Calibration disk. range- 0-.0025
Question, where to look for error? Forrest blade? bad calibration disk? ( The disk does seem even until last 45 degree quadrant and then out by .002. consistently.
Bad dial gauge? or worst of all,
bad left miter slot groove? It (edge closest to blade) doesn’t seem to be really flat against a 24 inch Starrett calibrated straight edge.
Thoughts?

Are you saying that you have loosened the table mounting bolts and you can't shift the table to bring the slot parallel to the blade?

Have you ever heard of a calibration disk being that far out? Laid the starrett across it on the good part and it was on, rotated it into the "bad" area and you could seen a large difference just eyeballing it.Took a chance and set the top against the good part of the disk and have it all at about .00150. I think the Forrest was also "in and out".
.00150 is ok I suppose, just something I will live with but would have like have held it just a touch tighter. Not 0, just a touch - like right at .001. Especially since the runout is almost nihl.By the by, are there any torque guide lines for the bolts? Always in fear of cracking the top.Boiler

John,I think I found the error-at least to keep the saw in reasonable tolerances.Freud wrote that in reference to the calibration disk they sell,
".002 at the perimeter would be considered in tolerance."Some calibration!Thanks for your timeBoilerbay
