Lately I’ve become interested in making plywood furniture – Not the way it’s used in cabinet building (diguised behind veneers and face frames) or even the style that Eames made popular with his bent laminated chairs – I’m talking about a less conventional style that involves stacking multiple sheets and then shaping them to render three dimensional forms.
I found some examples of this online by an artist/craftsman named Carl Gromoll that were amazing, but I’d like to see more.
Does anyone know where I might info on this subject?
Any thoughts, photos or links on this subject would be appreciated. Thanks.

You are welcome. ;-)
If any one out there can explain, in-layman's terms how to post pix on this web site, please do, I've posted a few pix a couple of years ago, but forgot how to do it again.
turning plywood offers some neat (cheap ) ways to making something different. I've also made some bowls, but mostly I make columns and spindles, split turning....C.A.G.
Simply go to the lower part of your "new post" and look for attach files. From there "browse" to where your pics are located on your computer and click on "upload".trimjim

I don't know if you've run across Kerry Vesper. He does sculpted plywood furniture. http://www.kerryvesper.com/

Yeah! I saw that stuff a while ago, couldn't remember the site...thanks for the link. That's exactly what I was talking about - his work doesn't hide the plies, it celebrates the layered look of plywood while taking advantage of it's strength and stability. Thanks again
EARL, Took advantage of your post and went to the Kerry Vesper site, thats incredible looking furniture he's made out of plywood. Apart from his skill at making it, he's got some is it "eye" for design?
One can only marvel. thanks Regds. Boysie Slan Leat.I'm never always right but i'm always never wrong. Boysie
I've known about Kerry Vesper for a few yrs. What I really like, are his wall Sculptures. I agree, he does have a good design "Eye". Check out http://www.furnituresociety.org for other interesting furnituremakers.EarlFurniture...the Art of a FurnitureMaker
EARL, Thanks for the info.Ilove looking at what other people make and show.I never comment on how people make furniture as I am usless at joints, about what type, where and when it should be used,as it is beyond my capabilitys and always will be. But I do have a good eye for judging a piece and therefore thats why I would love to see a site where the Knotters could post their work for all to see and hopefully inspire people like me to produce something better than that piece of Maple that Bob the Kid sent to Ray.
Although in another few weeks I hope to have an exact copy of that only in Doug. Fir. Ha HA HA. Thanks again Earl .Regds. Boysie Slan Leat.I'm never always right but i'm always never wrong. Boysie
