Please help – Is this mobile base strong enough?
So I recently landed an older (1960s) model powermatic 66 table saw. I would like to put it on a mobile base and the custom pics I’ve come across with fancy levering mechanisms seem out of my league at this point (unless someone has a really detailed plan) and I’m not a welder. So, I called powermatic and they actually recommended looking into the HTC products.
My saw is about 500 lbs. The HTC-3000 is supposedly “rated” for 700 lbs, but some reviews online question this. My footprint is 24.75″ by 59.25″ with a center post attached to a 38″ metal extension table. I am not completely sure based on their website, but it doesn’t seem that the powermatic mobile base would fit. Any experience or recommendatiomns anyone could share out there? Thanks in advance.

I would look into Rockler All Terrain mobile base. I will be able to give you a better picture on how well it works in about a month when my new table saw is delivered. From reading reviews and looking at other fourms LJ to be specific this product has great reviews and I have one sitting waiting for the new saw to arrive.

I got one of those for my Grizzly Sliding Table saw. The saw is about 400lbs. The base rolls smoothly over pretty much any terrain as it says. I'd recommend this base in a heart beat. I've uploaded a picture of it for you to see.
