The wife wants plantation shutters for two tall windows in our living room. Does anybody know of a source for plans?
I realize that the dimensions will have to be changed to fit our situation, but was hoping to get a basic plan, that I can modify for my exact situation.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Norm did some that looked pretty amazing but (of course) he used some very unique tools to mill the slats of the shutters. He had a custom bit made for his molder. If you watch the show and get the plans, and alternative may come to mind. Below is the link for buying the show/plans.

Thanks Irish. I somehow missed that episode, and was not aware that Norm had done a show on them.
Looks like I have to place an order, and then see where it takes me.
Thanks for the help.
FHB issue 17 has an excellent article on building shutters. Shows you how to make the slats on a planer with a shop-built jig and other details.
I started to build them for our house, the very nice ones at the home center won out. Way to much going on with them, the effort was much better spent on the new dining room table and chairs.
Hi Birdman,
As another poster suggested NYW did an episode on making Plantation shutters, as usual Norm did go over board using his Williams-Hussey moulder to mill the louvers. Not something everyone has in their shop (I don't). You also could check out these plans from Rockler, http://www.rockler.com/product.cfm?page=10901&filter=20457 as a point of reference
Good Luck
