Hello Good Gentleman
I would be Silvers lovely lady. He informs me so very often how helpful you dear fellows are, so please don’t let him down. What I am looking for are plans for an up right wardrobe trunk as seen in the old Fred Astaire movies….The Gay Divorcee I think is one. I believe they have drawers on the bottom and you can also hang your clothing. Not that I am planning to run away any time soon, but I am hoping our children might get the hint. Thank you. M.

M. Silver,
I tried my usual resources without success. Unfortunately this seems to be a rare item including the real thing thru antique dealers. All I could find was a few pictures. My suggestion is to use plans for a steamer trunk and modify them to meet your needs.
Happy holidays,
Rickl

Dear Rick
Thank you so very much for sending the pictures. I had drawn one from memory for Silver, but your pictures helped immensely. Question! How did you find them? Not to pry, but are your sources a secret like the best berry picking locations? Thanks once again, perhaps I'll get some old Fred Astaire videos over the holidays and see if I can get some more ideas. Happy Holidays to you as well, from the Great White North. M
Hi M,
I found those pictures on a website for a trunk restoration shop. Sorry but I can’t remember witch one, they were the only ones I found out of many sites I looked at. As for my sources they’re not a secret just a lot of links to websites and books I’ve accumulated thru the years, but I do have a secret berry picking patch in Maine an that’s all I’ll say about it. By the way have you looked at any books? I believe there might be a couple out there on history and restoration. Here are a couple of links I use for plans:

And this is a search engine that simultaneously searches multiple search engines such as About, Ask Jeeves, FAST, FindWhat, Google, LookSmart, Overture and many more with one single click. Try a search on “trunk” and you’ll get a lot of stores and shops that deal in them. http://www.dogpile.com/index.gsp
Good Luck,
