I’m considering purchasing a planer/moulder combo machine and would like to get feedback from those of you that have this type of machine. I am leaning towards the Grizzly 13″ planer/molder currently. Specifically, I am looking for insight into the quality of the finish I might expect when moulding.
Would I be better off to purchase a nice planer and bypass the combo type machines all together? With the additional versatility of this machine will I be losing too much performance as a planer? If I had to take a wild guess, I would estimate that I would use it for planing 80-90% of the time.
Appreciate any input/advice.
Steve

I've complained about my 13" jet planer molder a few times on knots. not happy at all with it.

See if you can pick up a Woodmaster on Ebay, otherwise it may price you out. It is a better machine than the Griz. IMHO.
