Good Day all
Well the old Rockwell 11/2 hp past on to the bone yard last week.
I decided to go with the New 890 Porter Cable Grip vac D-Handle
Much to my amazment the Vac port Is 1″ dim.
What is the vac fitting for this? Not my Fein @11/2″ or the old craftsman 2 @1/2″
What’s The Deal here? Will the Cherry,Oak ,Walnut etc chips be able to extract threw a1″ vac tube?

Not sure how well that 1" port works on the 890 but the hose is no problem. PC p/n 39332 is a 10' hose with 1" and 1 1/2" ends and p/n 39335 is a 1 1/2" to 2 1/2" adaptor. Would not be without it- it fits my 347 saw, 352 belt sander, 333 random orbit sander and it should fit the 890. I hook 'em up to my Shop Vac; it's way more effective than dust bag/canister dust collection.
Its a good idea but at 1" dia. its gonna clog ,been there done that.Cheers.
I'll second JC's comment. Get the accessory hose. I use it and it works great. It's length combined with the length of my shopvac hose will help you go around a project with ease. I use it with my circular saw, orbital sander and routers. I have not had my hose clog on the 890, but small chips get between the base plate and the dust collection plate opposite the dust intake port. Minor problem. I simple hit the base with some compressed air and it comes loose. You will enjoy the 890. I love mine.
