I’m having a problem with my 8529 in a router table setup. I am making some raised panels for wainscot using a ‘C’ profile router bit. The router appears to be lowering itself from the vibration of the bit which is 3 1/4″ Diameter. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a fix? a way of locking the depth?
Right now I have the router set up as described in the users manual for router tables using the above the table height adjuster.
I have used this setup previously and have not had this problem.
Thanks
Craig

A few notes.
You're pushing the router to its limits with that big cutter. May have nothing to do with the problem, however. If you're not locking the motor to the posts, I'd recommend it. And it is possible, whilst everything else may be Kosher, the shank is slipping in the collet. If it has, the collet is dead and the shank needs attention.

Thanks for your reply. I know that I'm pushing it to its limits, but I only have a few panels to do. I'm taking it slow with many passes.
I did find the updated owners manual on PC's website & locked the plunge lock to the posts & it appears to have solved my problem. The earlier manual that came with the unit didn't mention the plunge lock.
Origionally I thought the bit was slipping in the collet, so I cleaned it & put it back in & measured the shank, but still had the same problem.
Is the 8529 the plunge version of their large router?
It sounds like you fixed the problem with the "plunge lock" you mention.
I assume you're aware that collets will indeed wear out, and need to be replaced from time to time -- depending on how hard they've been used.......
