I just built cabinets made of Birch venier plywood. I would like to use a Benjemin Moore color called White Dove. I was planning to prime cabinets with Zinnsers B-I-N. I was thinking of using Ben Moore Impervo as a top coat. The paint store suggested that I use a product called Insulex Cabinet Coat with no additional clear coat. What paint would you suggest I use and if a clear coat is necessary, what should I use? I am looking for a satin finish.
Thank You,
Tom

Tom,
Ben Moore Satin Impervo (oil) is a good choice for cabinets. You don't need a clear coat over it.
I haven't used the cabinet coat product. What is the base?
Peter
Hi Peter,
The product is Insl-x Cabinet Coat. This information is from their website at insl-x.com. It is called a Cabinet Satin Enamel. The vehicle type is a Urethane Reinforced Acrylic. Water based with 33.7% solids by volume. Recommended dry film 1.3 mils. Viscosity 88-93ku.
Thanks,
Tom
