Hi,
On occassion, I use semi paste paint remover on renewal projects. And, feel I have become quite proficient at re-habbing an old chest of drawers or whatever. However, I can’t seem to find a pair of rubberized gloves that:
1. Can hold up to the chemicals in semi-paste removers and
2. Are not so inadequate to the task they disintergrate or
3. are so thick that I cant flex my hands or pick up small objects.
Can you recommend a manufacturer/distributor that you have used personally?
I must have a slight arthriitic conditions in my hands. Not debilitating (sp?) but I know it’s there,
Any help would be appreciated,
Richard

get some "hand stripping gloves" from a place that supplies the trade.
I have gotten some from Wood Finisher's Depot and they last a long time before starting to tear at the cuff.
Have you tried Nitrile gloves? They stand up to about anything and are reasonably flexible.
Frosty

Frosty is right, neoprene or nitrile are your materials of choice for methylene chloride (see this article). Looks like PVA would be a material you would not want to use, even though it's resistant to MC.forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
I use kitchen rubber gloves. I get remover on them but they don't disintegrate and I don't bathe my hands in it. I also have a pair of heavyish garden gloves that are some sort of composition material that is very heavy duty. Neoprene also works for me.
Richard ,
They are called chemical resistant gloves and you might try a google search on " Benco Stripper " look at the supplies and accessories .
good luck dusty
