I’m installing a new outdoor deck with a mahogany handrail around the perimiter. I’d be interested in suggestions for finishing the mahogany.

For exterior projects like this , personally, I prefer to use the penetrating type finishes.
A few examples of brands would be Sikens, Cabot and Olympic.
I use garden sprayer to apply a coat of Olympic oil each year to the cedar siding of my shop.
A film finish like an exterior (spar) varnish can be a big PIA to maintain each year. The penetrating type oils are simplicity personified.
It's all a matter of personal taste and how much elbow grease you want to invest each year.
Good luck.
Peter
