On-Line Router Info for Novices
Want to pass along an on-line discovery I made today while putting together literature for my step-son to go with the new router we’re giving him for his birthday. The site is Trend Machinery, a UK company that makes routers and accessories.
The basic introduction page is here:

My favorite place, though, is there Free Literature page:
http://www.trendmachinery.co.uk/libfiles/library.html where there are several printable PDF documents. I printed out A Guide to Getting Started (getstart.pdf) and Cutter and Collet Care (ccc.pdf). They take a little while to download, but well worth the wait. Or, you can right click and select “Save Target As” to put them on your computer first.
Hope these links are helpful.

Forestgirl,
Thanks for the link. Great information. I think it will take longer to print it than it did to download.

It does take awhile to print, but those "pages" are pretty small. I printed out the Getting Started and most of the Cutter and Collet care for my stepson. I was going to give him one of my router books, but couldn't seem to turn loose of any of the 3 of them, LOL.forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)Another proud member of the "I Rocked With ToolDoc Club" .... :>)
I just checked out the file that's called "ccc" something (wish they'd name these with relevant info!), and it's really good to -- more about techniques for various operations, oriented specifically to home-improvement activities. forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)Another proud member of the "I Rocked With ToolDoc Club" .... :>)
Thanks! As someone just getting started, this looks really useful.
I also saw your post about the tablesaw magazine - I picked it up the other day, and it seems really useful. Of course, I haven't selected a saw yet, but that's another story!....

Very thoughtful of you to pass that along! I am trying to broaden my father's tool knowledge, as most everything he does is with a 60's vintage Craftsman radial arm saw. Those articles will come in handy. Thanks again!
