Does anyone have experience comparing the Grizzly Extreme Series Jointer and the Oliver jointer? They look remarkably result, but the cost difference appears meaningful?
I, like many amateurs, have looked to upgrade to professional machines for the tools I use the most (and find the hobbiest models to be flimsy). On the other hand, if the Oliver and Grizzly are the same, why pay the extra?

Don't know anything about Grizzly jointer, but saw a top end Oliver demonstated recently....probably one of the best and priced to match. The Oliver is beautifully balanced. A nickel stood on end does not move when placed on the Oliver table while the machine in running with no load.

I have the Griz 10" with the SC. I too can place a nickle on it and joint a board. Weight it the key and it is not an indication of quality.
The current "Oliver" is not the same company that it was in the 20's. It was sold off long ago and now it is owned by someone banking on the old reputation.
There have been many discussions on this forum. I'd suggest checking them out.
Go with the griz and dont look back.
