A little help needed
A while back, From a link in a knots post, I found a dewalt RAS site with history, good and bad model info, manufacture date calculator, and loads of other good info. I thought that I had book marked it but I can’t find it now. My search efforts have not produced the site in question. I have a chance to buy an AMF Dewalt 9″? Saw in good condition with all parts except blade and bevel tilt index knob. Asking price $39.00 but might go lower! Motor runs great and everything else would be fine with some cleaning, lube, and adjustment. It is painted with a funky green and yellow rough texture spatter finish that I believe to be original. The AMF label should put in the 1949 to 1960 time frame and thus ensure higher quality than later dewalts. It’s a model 242 Rel No. MBF ? and I would love to hear from any one who could link me to that site and/or give me any and all info on this particular saw . I’ll probably buy it regardless but would like to know all I can. I already have a newer RAS and two table saws [ wife thinks I have a problem] but what could one more hurt?
Thanks for any help,
Chris

go to www. owwm.com, they have info on a saw like your under the dewalt section-good luck-js
That's actually http://www.oldwwmachines.com/
both addresses work-js
I see the problem - there was a space after the http://www. When I copied it into the address line it failed.
That is a cool site - thanks for sharing it!
Thanks guys,
I downloaded a 1953 catalog for what appears to be my,come Monday, saw. I still think that there is an old Dewalt site out there that goes into greater depth on history and specific year by year model critiques. If anyone knows it I would love to hear from them.
