Hi Guys and Gals… I’ve got a question about plexiglass and hope someone will have a simple answer for me. I have an OLD piece of 1/4″ plexiglass that I’ve cut into a circle (3.5″d). It’s so old that the adhesive that holds the paper onto the two faces won’t let go. I tried laquer thinner but that did not work. Any suggestions (beside buying a NEW piece of plexi??)
Thanks…. SawdustSteve Long Island, NY E of NYC

I inherited a lot of old plexiglass when I moved into my "new" lab. It was old and the paper would not peal when I got it in 1992. I would not be surprised if was 15 yrs old at that time. To get it cleaned off, I let is soak in water for a day and then rub it off. You can use a Scotch scouring pad if you have too. You will not get it to come perfectly, but for jig and tool use and most lab requirements, it will be more than good enough. Just don't expect to make a display case with it.
