Hey! What happened to the link to Breaktime that used to be at the top of the page? Bummer.
Now I need to make my own shortcut to get my daily construction fix!

Looks like I'll have to log on to Fine Homebuilding first, read breaktime, hit the link to "knots", read it then hit the "Back" button til I get back to Breaktime.
What GENIUS deleted the "Breaktime" link????? SOMEBODY is getting paid to dream up useless tasks to perform. He/she should be painting stripes in the parking lot instead of screwing up an otherwise fine site!!!!
Settle down folks.
The link to Breaktime will be back later today. We moved it from the top header to the area next to the start link. Just like building furniture, Web development takes time and our developer wanted to go home last night for dinner.
I hope people don't call you names when you decide to leave the clamps on a glue-up overnight.
Cheers,

LOL. Only if they're hydraulic clamps set for 1,000 pounds of pressure!

Thanks Matt.
Just goes to show... in today's instant environment, any mistakes are spotted in a nano second and communicated around the world! Used to be, when I was a pup, it took days or weeks for my boss to hear about my mistakes!!!!
Have a nice Thanksgiving. And thanks to all the hardworkers at the Mag / Forum for bringing us a quality product.
Most of us would have the clamps off before delivering the piece! :)------------------------------------
It would indeed be a tragedy if the history of the human race proved to be nothing more than the story of an ape playing with a box of matches on a petrol dump. ~David Ormsby Gore
and our developer wanted to go home last night for dinner.HAY! We woodworkers never go to dinner until the glue up and clamping is FINISHED!
AHA!!! Hover your mouse on the "Taunton" (light grey) button, just above the FineWoodworking.com banner and you'll get a dropdown menu for the other magazines.
I guess it's Fine Woodworking's attempt to imitate Windows Vista's crappy recipe........ of hidden instructions. Sometimes I feel like a monkey just randomly slapping the keys to see where stuff is....
OOOOPS... THAT won't work either! Just opens a window in the background that I can't access. Send that boob to the parking lot.........!

Nice find.
BUT -- it just takes you to the mag home page, not the forum.
No biggie tho -- problem solved by adding a new "Favorites" to my browser.

Gee, guys. It's hidden right there. In plain sight. Keep your fingers away from moving parts. ;)
Now, where are my glasses?

What beach?
and how old?
bum? I preferred to call it"hanging out" :)
After joining society and the working class. I ruptured my fourth lumar! The bills are still coming in from a recent shoulder repair. And, after watching Shark Week, I may never surf again!
An Old fellow beach bum..........

We are at the north end of the Long Beach peninsula near the settlement of Oysterville. The peninsula is at the north side of the mouth of the Columbia River and is a sand spit about 27+/- miles long.
The northern 4 miles are state park and Nat'l wildlife refuge. Just beautiful. Shhhhhhhh.........don't tell anyone about this place........it's a secret.
Some of the world's best kite flying here, almost any day, and I do have a bunch of them to play with. Here's my grandson and truck for scale next to some driftwood that shows up here. You can see how crowded we are not. :0) This is about 1 mile from home.
bum
edit to add:
Sorry about the injury. Isn't there someone you can sue? That's the American way, isn't it? Work is a four letter word I stopped using after I had heart by-pass surgery. I've been lucky enough to replace it with play, also four letters.

This is a rather large example but it is amazing how much and how large the driftwood is that comes ashore here. You never see the same beach twice. It is constantly changing.
This piece was gone the next day. By that I mean completely cut up and hauled away by the local "woodpeckers". The beach is driveable for about 24 un-interupted miles and many in this area are retired, low income and heat with wood. My next door neighbor does this and the woodpile out back is about the size of a small cube van.
Mother nature supplies them daily. The area is usually picked pretty clean by noon each day, depending upon tides and weather.
Many of us are also trolling the beach for the odd beauties for signs, carvings, decorative posts, and any other type of woodworking. Given where we are it could come from anywhere in the world....The unspoken word is capital. We can invest it or we can squander it. -Mark Twain...

Excellent!
I remember wearing coats and the clouds! :)
I feel like a sardine living in Phoenix.
We have property in Warm Beach, WA. It is thirty miles north of Everett and 13 miles West of hwy 5 from Smokey Pt. Warm Beach is cute. On Puget sound. We raised the kids there, then the wind came up and blew us away. Our son was born in Hawaii. Our oldest daughter was born in Santa Cruz, CA. and, our younest daughter was born in Everett,WA.
I want to move now. I want to be around less people and I want a shop to cut wood in. Can't get the wife to be agreeable on this. She loves our house and her job and ........... maybe in another year or two. Prices for homes in Phoenix have dropped again making the move so tempting. We have a two car garage. The best I can do in the valley is a three car garage. I have taken over our two car now and it isn't enough room.
I love kites but hate the wind. I grew up in San Francisco bay area. I know fog and I know wind.
Thanks for sharing,

Small world!
We know Smoky Point and Everett pretty well. Almost moved to Marysville, once. My wife worked at Boeing Everett for 9 years. (commuted via vanpool from Maple Valley) Lots of day trips to Deception Pass, Chuckanut Dr, weekends in the San Juans. (all years ago before it got too crowded) If you get homesick go on Google Earth and scope out the area; lots of nice photos.
My Mother is living in Watsonville, my youngest daughter was born at El Camino Hospital in Mtn. View when I lived in Milpitas and commuted to SFO when I worked with the airlines for a few years.
I have a cousin in Chandler, not far from where you are, I'm guessing.
Maybe a neighbor has a vacant, separate garage you could rent and set up a small shop. Many years ago I rented such a place for just a very few $ a month from a widow that had no use for the building but it was in great shape. It served my purpose at the time and helped her with some extra cash.
Best of luck in your endeavors and have a great holiday season,Jim...The unspoken word is capital. We can invest it or we can squander it. -Mark Twain...

Watsonville..........I worked for a roofing company in Watsonville. 32 Walker St. I would hitch hike from Santa Cruz. I was never late for work the whole time I worked there. Had to quit. Ruptured my fourth lumar in Salinas working a 120 unit apartment complex. This was my first real job after joining society.

And where is the spell check? I didn't major in English! I want to give the proper impression when talking to the "boys".
