I just Have to comment on this:
On the classified section there is a post regarding a new lumber company that sells on line.
Domestic and exotic hardwoods.
Just for the fun of it I checked some of their prices … This is one example:
5/4 Cherry: 3″ wide – 47″ long … that makes the grade at #1 Common … $20 !!!
$16 per BF !!!
I am wondering what they are smoking.

c,
there are a few "lumber" dealers such as that in my area. their stock tends to be the very good stuff all s4s and often waxed on the ends. they charge upwards of five times what the "real" lumber yards ask. people without the means to surface their own tend to frequent and buy from these outfits. very often folks stroll into my shop bearing such timber and asking me how to do something they'd like done. then, short of doing all the work, i watch as they slowly destroy that expensive wood.

I received a reply from domexhardwoods.com on the classified section.
Apparently they consider that particular board (5/4 x 3" x 47") to be FAS because it doesn't present any defects nor cracks !
Never mind the NHLA grading rules !Way to go !C.
