   Dave

   Go to the header at the top of this page, you'll see a orange box. It says "Shop Books, Plans, & more". Just click on that, it will take to Taunton's book store. I have always being happy with the books published  by the Taunton press. Very well written, loaded with great ideas and methods of work. I think if you can find one that your Dad does not have he will enjoy your gift.

   Dave,

   I can't think of any box books put out this year. Maybe you could go at a slight angle and buy a book related to, but not about boxes. Maybe like a book on hardware, or banding, veneering, or inlay. I bought a book called Wood - Craft, Culture, History by Harvey Green. For anyone remotely interested in wood, it's an amazing book. It explores so many uses of wood in great depth (there's 8 pages on toothpicks). It's not at all boring (to me, at least) and actually quite fascinating. It's available in hard or soft cover. I bought mine on the bargain table at Borders.

   Or if all else fails, how about a nice piece of wood?
