I returned my 10″ dual slider, bevel craftsman today. I just bought a 12″ compound dual bevel rigid. Very user friendly, awesome warranty. Better decision???? Thanks to all who responded. I hope it’s a better decision?

Craftsman Random Orbit Sander
While this sander is among the least expensive models in the test, its performance ranks among the best. The stock removal was excellent, and dust collection was solid when used with a vacuum. It handles really smoothly, too, and has a tall body that fit my hand nicely whether I was holding it from above or around the waist.

I love the 12" ridgid. I used it in shop class, and all I noticed was a slight squeek of mabey slipping belt(s)? but that's with rough useage of inexperianced kids.
Can you hold the laser level while I shave?
I don't have any experience with either saw or company, but dollars to donuts, you made the better choice. Ridgid has really been making a name for themselves as of late - solid features, good price, second-to-none warranty.

Chris, I have an old Craftsman 10" RAS with the heavy post from Emerson at 1 1/2 hp. ,it runs true but I don't rip on it, an early Sears (tti) contractors saw all cast wings nicely tuned and a 10" Right tilt Unisaw. The 12" DeWalt #705 ,a single miter , is a joy for what I need it for and I also have an old Sears 12" chop that is total junk ( pull the trigger and anything can happen ) and don't expect square cuts.
