Towards the highend, I'd have the Woodhaven Deluxe on my very short list, and likely the Incra 1000SE. I'd probably also check into the Jessem and Kreg.
I have an Osborne EB-3 and an Incra V27 with the Hartville fence. My Incra V27 is a nice basic gauge, but does need a fence or at least some abrasive on the face. It's easy to use and very accurate. My EB-3 works now but was a real headache to make it that way...it's was defective from the start and Osborne's CS botched 3 attempts to fix it then gave up on me... Osborne has since been bought by General International AFAIK, and is rumored to be manufactured in China....hard for me to recommend it based on my experience and current circumstances.
The basic Woodhaven is a nice low cost gauge if you can get by with only 45s and 90s.

I have the one made by Incra for Wood craft supply. I like it a lot Chris
A pertinent piece of data is your budget for the miter gauge. They can be very expensive! IMHO, the Incra is the best bang for the buck, but those who have two or three times as much available might buy something different.
I have the Incra 1000 (now available is the 1000SE, much better with its extension) and couldn't live without it. It's rock solid and very accurate. The 3000 would be nice too, but I really do not like the one inbetween (2000 I think?).
forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
It seems that no matter which one I do research on, they all have their supporters and detractors, plus'es and minus'es, friends and foes. They all seem to do a good job, have features and claim to be the best. Price-wise the difference is minor in the mid-range grouping of gauges. I am leaning toward the Incra 1000SE but still have some more research to do.
I do appreciate everyones input!

The undisciplined life is not worth examining.
I have the woodhaven delux and have been pretty happy with it.

the jessem is rock solid, heavy and top of the line. i think you can do a search for miter guage reviews here on the website and get a recent article.
Just to throw another 'hat in the ring', take a look at the JoinTech. Really great features and extremely accurate.
