I saw on the minwax homepage yesterday they are making a brush on lacquer. Can someone compare this to polyurethane in terms of hardness and overall charachteristics?
I called Minwax for something else and asked them if the lacquer was in stores yet and they said only in California and not many stores there anyway. They said you could order it from Ace Hardware but you have to ask for it. Ace isnt advertising it yet.

If you want to try a brushing lacquer, another product is CLEAR WOOD FINISH by Deft.
This may be more widely available than the Minwax version. It is the classic in this product category, and has been around since forever. Generally sold in most home centers and paint stores.
What is the best brush to use for the brushing lacquer?

Biscardi,
I use a 'Purdy' for the lacauer...1 1/2" I think....I like it better than the badger for lacquer
