I am making a cabinet using solid walnut except for the sides & top & sheles, which are teak plywood. Does anyone have a suggestion as what to use to stain the teak to match the walnut?
I will be using BLO on the cabinet before putting the final finish on.
Thanks, JamesS

Silly question but why teak ply? Walnut ply would have been a lot less money. I’m not sure you can get the teak to look like walnut, the grain patterns are a lot different and it just doesn’t stain well in my experience. You might have better luck with birch or maple ply.
Napie: Easy to answer, the Teak was free & I have lots of walnut boards. I thought the teak would be a good match.

That is a great reason!
I think you can get close to the color with Watco Danish in Dark Walnut, with a little red added. Can't really say as I'm color blind, and the younger brother who can blend paints to match by eye better than the color matching computer systems, did it for me the only time I ever wanted it done. It took him literally a couple of weeks, the advantage / disadvantage of using the Watco blend was it didn't add much at a time so he could keep from getting things too dark, but it took lots of coats to get there.
One of those things I did back when I was younger and dumber, was to meld two set of Cado walls system components into one. The one set was teak, the other walnut, and the younger brother was sure he could make them match. And, everyone told me the color did match, but the grain was glaringly wrong to my eye.
Thanks, I'll try that on a scrap pc.

I just double checked, he used mostly "bulletin red", but there was a little raw umber, and burnt sienna in there too.
