Hi I am trying to help a friend out by making a new maple drawer front for his kitchen. One was missing when he bought the house. We know it will never be perfect but almost anything is better then the black hole he has now. The wood is maple with a satin finish, what i am struggling with is there is a slight pink tint to the finish. How is this done. I know lots of tests are in order but how and when do you add the tint?

Probably a touch of weak reddish dye was added to the acid catalysed lacquer- or similar, spray finish at the penultimate coat stage, ie, coat one of two. Slainte.
