I have a Makita horizontal wet grinder that does a great job of sharpening. However, it makes the bigest mess I have ever seen by throwing wet, fine grinder dust everywhere. Is there any simple solution to this? Thanks.

I have one also. I put it in a deep sink and the sides of the sink catch most of the splashing. It can be a pain to use but it does a good job. I tend to let things go until I have a number of things to sharpen and then spend some time doing everything I have even if some of them could wait a while.

Try less water dripping from the tank. I soak the wheels for 30 min. before use, makes a big difference in the amount of water needed. The Makita is a great grinder. My 16" jointer knives come out razor sharp. Better than the sharpening service.
