I’ve owned my Makita LS1221 12″ compound miter saw since September 06 and it has worked like a dream until last week. I was cutting 2x6s and needed to swing the table to 45-degrees. Normally, this action is smooth and easy, but now it requires more force and results in a “light” grinding action. It sounds like there’s sawdust between the pivoting table and the base. Other than this, the saw is like new. Any suggestions of how to fix this? By the way, I have loosened the locking knob and disengaged the common angle lock!

Chris, judging from this message in my thread about the Makita saw I bought, Tuolomne7 seems to know about this issue.
